Fish Tank Fry!

Disclaimer: This may sound boring to some of you. I apologize, please bear with me.....

My Oscar died a couple of weeks ago so I was trying to figure out what I wanted to put in it this time. I usually don't do well with community fish, but I decided to give it another go-'round. First I bought 2 pineapple swordtails (male and female), 10 neon tetras, and 3 silver mollies. I thought one of them seemed really fat, so Robert and I were wondering if we might have a "prego" on our hands. Yesterday I decided to buy some more fish (I have plenty of room, trust me) so I bought 3 more Dalmation mollies, 5 male guppies and 2 cory cats. They all seemed pretty happy! Tonight when I got home and went to feed them, I saw one molly in the part of my tank that has the powerhead (which she is not supposed to be swimming in) and then all of the sudden I noticed all of these baby fish swimming all over! Too cool! (I know, I'm such a nerd, just bear with me) I'm not sure if I should try and keep them alive or just let them be and test Darwin's theory, so right now I'm just going to let them be- but here are some pictures of my updated tank and I tried to take a picture of some of the babies (if you can see them!):

Fun In Florida!!!

Havin' a great time with the family! I was greeted with my own welcome sign:

Yes, they call me On-T for some reason instead of Auntie, Monica thinks it's funnier that way. :-)
Today we went to the zoo and tomorrow we're going to the beach! Other than that, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company!

Going to Florida!!!

I'm off to Florida! The first part of my trip is work related, then I'm taking a side trip on the way back to see my sister in Jacksonville and little Alee! I'm very excited, can't wait to go to the beach and the zoo with them, and Monica just announced last week that she's expecting another little one, so it will be a very happy visit!  Right now I'm at the airport in Charlotte- our second flight is supposedly delayed until 902 pm, but I'm hoping that time will change and we'll leave earlier. 

So back to the news..... This past weekend I saw the equivalent of a unicorn.... What do I mean, you ask? Anyone who knows us will never believe this: Robert was actually at HOME on a Saturday, washing cars instead of playing golf....

And last night I finished my tablerunner: Robert was like, "It's nice, but it's not really the look I thought we were going for." And he's right, but that is what the class was, so that's what I made. And I know Mama B already said she wants it, so I'll just leave it on the table for awhile and then I'll pass it along. It is in NO way perfect, seriously, some of my stitches were way out of the ditches, but I wasn't going to be picky about it being it was my first project. And just glancing at it you probably wouldn't notice anyway.


I know, it pretty much looks the same as my last tablerunner post, but believe me, it's different! :-)
For our next project, we are moving on to the big stuff: QUILTS! So being the dedicated sewer that I am, I decided that I might as well make two of them during this class at the same time. These are the two sets of fabric that I picked out, and I love both of them. I'll probably keep the dark one for myself and give the other one away. The dark one reminds me of Mardi Gras, plus with Emma's lovely fur everywhere I figured it wouldn't show as much on the dark material....Also, the dark material is hand dyed (they're called Batiks) so it is a little more expensive than regular material, which makes it more special to me. What do you think?
