Busy Week

We have had such a busy week! First, Robert re-did the ceiling on the porch because it was so poorly constructed. It took him awhile, but he did a great job, and now it's all ready to be stained. I love having a built-in handyman as a husband!
This picture is from about half way through the job....

Then, we both had to go out of town for work until Wed. night. One of my flights back home flew into Atlanta, and that's where Robert's meeting was also. Well, my flight into Atlanta was late, subsequently, my flight out left me just as I arrived at the gate completely out of breath. How totally annoying.... I was placed on a standby flight for 1005 pm or I was guaranteed to be on the next morning flight. I tried to get in touch with Robert, hoping maybe I could hitch a ride back with him, but he didn't get my message until late. Lucky for me, I decided that they were going to put me on the 1005 flight because it was their fault in the first place (AKA I yelled at them on Delta's hotline) and low and behold, a seat just so happened to "just open up". Yay! I finally got home at 130 am on Thursday and guess who beat me home? Yeah, crazy huh?

I went to work on Thursday at 11 am because I just couldn't get there any earlier, and left at 430 because my boss is super nice and told me that I had worked enough for the week. Aunt Sandy and Aunt Connie were coming in that evening to spend a couple of days with us, so I took off on Friday.
We didn't do much while they were here, they said they really just wanted to chill since they had been going non-stop for over 2 weeks traveling. We had a great time with them....

I thought I was bad with taking millions of pictures, but Aunt Connie totally has me beat!  I took all of the pictures they had taken thus far and put them on a CD and DVD for them, and there were almost 1000 already!  I have now dubbed Aunt Connie the Official "Chinese Tourist".....

Trip to Baltimore

Yesterday Cindi and I left to go on a girl's trip to Baltimore for the weekend. Cindi has a new GPS that she named Zoie (that's how she spells it) and although Cindi loves Zoie, she doesn't totally trust her judgement, so she also printed out the mapquest directions to get us to the hotel. As we were driving into DC, Zoie decided that we needed to go through the city because it was the better way, instead of going around. So Cindi kept saying, "I think we should be on 495, not 395", but I was on Zoie's side because she can actually talk and that's cool, so I convinced Cindi that Zoie knew what she was talking about and we should listen to her. Of course now Cindi thinks that Zoie just really wanted me to see DC because we were stuck in DC traffic for almost an hour because of her. But hey, I got to see some cool stuff, (at least it was cool to me) like the top of the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial.....

And the top of the Capitol Building....

Then we figured Zoie wanted us to eat dinner with the Bush Family because this is what we saw next....

Ha ha- good ole Zoie.... we finally made it to Baltimore! Today we went to Bulle Rock to watch the LPGA Championship, but no cameras were allowed so I don't have any pictures. It was 102 degrees without the humidity, and I brought sunscreen with an SPF of 55+, but obviously missed a few spots because this is basically what I looked like when we got back to the hotel.... (this is the top of my left arm)

Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea. (my other arm and sides of my neck are the same- very attractive!) I had forgotten that after Cindi sprayed me she didn't spray my shoulders, so being the dummy that I am, I rolled up my sleeves because I was hot and wasn't thinking. But anyway, we had a GREAT time- it was really cool to see all the celebrities playing, and we walked 9 holes. After seeing Annika Sorenstam play the ninth hole, we had enough and were so sweaty and tired that we decided to go back to the hotel to relax in the pool. Now we're back in our room and ready to go to bed because we're old. Ha! And tomorrow we'll head home. It has been a great weekend though, I'm not looking forward to going back home to clean house and wash clothes tomorrow!
